Hello everyone,
I have read through this forum and see people have had lots of problems with Virgin. I want to use wi-fi to access the net with my laptop in the loft and stillleave my main pc hard wired up. My laptop doesn't have bluetooth etc so will need to get one of those little sticks. I have being looking on ebay and see several sellers selling 54mb routers but is it better for me to get 108??
I plan to get Netgear unless anyone can recommend a tried and tested one thats working well in same type of set up??
Ebay links would be useful also if you see an item / items that would help me.
Cheers

Netgear is a pretty good choice. I've also had lots of smooth sailing with Belkin before. Though, at the moment I'm using a BT homehub and a Belkin wireless card for the laptop.
Pretty much every wireless router will allow you your kind of setup of one PC connecting through cable, and the laptop (and any other wireless devices) through the air.
Due to my horrible signal, my wireless is only running at 4mbps, but I dont notice any change in speed with Internet browsing. So, I would go for a 54mbps out of economic choice. But, if you want high speed transfers between the PC and the laptop, you might want to consider getting the 108 model.
As for your laptop, it may have an internal wireless card (even if it does not have Bluetooth. Bluetooth doesnt come into wireless netowrking, usually). What's the make and model of the laptop?
Aside from this, most routers come with the cables you need to get started, and some even bundle in a wireless adapter too!
I hope I've answered a lot of questions, and hope you can answer mine too!
