I know the obviouss difference between uploading and downloading but when it comes to isp usage, IS there adifference?
If you have a 5Gb allowance per month, does that mean that if you Upload 2 Gb you can only Download 3Gb?
I have just upgraded to Unlimited usage so I am assuming that includes unlimited uploads? This is mainly for uploading such a huge amount of pictures and backing up many files.
I know this may sound a stupid question but I have to ask
Not stupid at all. Yes you are right. If your total allowance is 5gb then both upload and download count towards that limit.
Quote: have just upgraded to Unlimited usage
Are you sure? There are very, very few ISPs that have a true unlimited usage deal. Most of them have a 'Fair Use' or Traffic Shaping' clause in the contract that will allow you to upload a lot but very slowly.

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.
I know what you mean about the unlimited thing. Their fair policy thing looks like you get 50Gb per month.
This should be plenty. The main reason for this is because I am getting into Photography and have many pictures to upload and also backing up files will take more than my old 5Gb per month.
