Hi all:
I normally set my Internet Properties with Right click over IE Icon on Desktop then 'properties' and a window "Internet Properties" with 7 tabs show up (General-Security-Privacy-Content-Connections-Programs-Advance. But, now for some reason if I do the same procedure, a different window "Internet Explorer Properties" show up with only 3 tabs (General-Shorcut-Compatibility)with information but not for setting.
So, I was using IE6 when this happened, and I thought downloading IE7 would recover the normal options. However is still same problem with IE7. IE7 is working good but I can't access to Internet Options from the IE icon on the Desktop. I still can access to internet options using 'control panel' or tools tab when IE is already opened. But I would like to recover the original option to set up internet using 'right click > properties' over IE icon on my desktop. I have a window XP home SP2, pentium 4, now IE7.
Some info cuould help you...two days ago I disable internet conection for a while and then turned off my PC. For some reason next day the IE icon in my desktop had gone. I opened Start > program, and created a new IE shortcut in my desktop. I think after that strange situation this problem come in.
I'll appreciate any help.
Thank you
Jose

Delete the shortcut you created and then right click anywhere on the blank desktop. Choose Properties then go to Desktop - Customise Desktop and put a tick in box next to Internet Explorer, Click ok - apply -ok. When you right click on the new icon all your options should be back
