Adsl dropped when phone used

I've had this problem ever since I've had Broadband and would appreciate some advice. The stats from my modem (Netgear DG834G) are currently: Speed 2848, Line attn 44dB, Noise margin 5dB. The dropout occurs when the phone is picked up (have tried different handsets) and recovers during the call but drops out again when the receiver is replaced. Have tried connecting direct to master socket with similar result. Had the same problem with previous modem (Voyager 205).

Could be a faulty filter. Try a different one.

I've tried 2 filter types - BT and Netgear. Same symptoms. Seems to me that it's a line problem. Is it time to start hassling BT?

Yeah possible HR(high resistance ) fault, get fault reported through your isp.

I like BTMan's optimism. If only it were that easy to get someone out, without it costing you a small fortune.

Have you got anything else connected, eg Sky Box?
