I have 2 computers on a router, one connects thro a LAN line and one wirelessly. The wireless comp works on the internet just fine but the one running thro the lan line won't connect, just keeps saying "Aquiring network address". I've seen alot of forums for a wireless comp having this problem but not a comp connecting thro a LAN line. I've tried diabling my tcp/ip protocal, putting netbios before tcp/ip, I have access to the router admin page thro the laptop and reset the router. Nothings working, I am using windows XP pro and I don't have service pack 2. My internet worked fine for a few days after I reinstalled windows on a new comp but then just stopped. What else can I do? Alos I'm not very good with comps so as simple as possable would be great, thx, Mindollin

Is the modem separate - if so have you tried resetting it also?
Might be worth phoning your internet service provider's tech helpline and asking their advice.
