I love Firefox except for the gray tool bar. I have tried without success to find some more cheerful alternative colors. Can anyone tell me if there are any available.
Can anyone also tell me why a forum for a British magazine is using the American dictionary

Taking the second question first, any spell checking done to a post on the forum will be from your own PC not the forum. The forum does not have a spell checker. Some of the instant mark up commands are Americanised like color instead of colour but that's the way the software comes.
Although I haven't bothered to look I'm sure there must be a Firefox extension out there somewhere that will do what you want. Have you had a look for Firefox Themes in Google?

For British spell checking in Firefox, you'll need to install the 'English (British)' dictionary found in this page. Then go to the 'Languages' section in Firefox's options and select it.
Lots of themes that change Firefox's appearance can be found here.
