hi,
a while ago i created a forum for my site. i am not too experienced with html etc. but i worked out how to do it using frontpage wizards and working my problems out for myself. But i keep having the following problem: whenever i publish something to my site, and dont delete a file "_derived/nortbots.htm" before I publish, the forum part of it completely stuffs up. I found out that there are some files that can only be published the first time and when they are published again it wipes the information or something. Anyway, in the past i've been publishing using Frontpage so i understood that if i didnt delete the file, it would be published and stuff up the forum. But recently i've been using FTP Explorer. yesterday i uploaded a few files (not the nortbots one), but i forgot to delete the nortbots one before i uploaded those files, and now the website has stuffed up. In the past i have had to create a totally new site, when i've stuffed it up and i've lost all my past messages. could u please help me on how to fix up this problem with the nortbots file.
thank-you very much pleasehelp

Never heard of nortbots, but suggest you stop using Frontpage, and I do suspect that is the cause. It is not an ideal program to use for site creation/maintenance, as it uses it's own coding in many things which bring their own problems.

Others will come up with alternatives, but a good one to start off with - it's freeware and has good reviews - is 1stPage from http://www.evrsoft.com. It has different skill levels so as you gain more proficiency it can introduce more advanced features for you, and it has some bots of its own to play with. :)
Seriously though, you do need to learn the basics of HTML, even if you use a program for writing the pages. All software makes mistakes, and without a basic understanding of HTML coding, you have no way of identifying and fixing them.
