My status bar in Firefox has increased to about 2 inches high. How can I reduce it?
Any help appreciated.

You're a star mart!
As you suggested, I uninstalled the extensions and the first one, "Foxmarks Bookmarks Synchronisation" seems to have been the culprit, as the grey bar has disappeared.
In fact, I had another problem, which I hadn't mentioned in this thread; my bookmarks were in the usual list, but did not link to their related website.
After carrying out your suggestion, the bookmark connection also works; give yourself a bonus star!

It was nothing ..no really. It was just something read about a few times before and personally experienced once. Mozilla nearly always add a page to the Knowledge Base if there are a number of reports about a particular problem. The thanks perhaps goes to whoever looks after the MozillaZine Knowledge Base.
