I have just started to try to transfer VCR tapes to DVD for the first time. To assist in this I have purchased the "Dazzle Video Creator Platinum". When it first starts up, it gives me the message "Studio 10 Quickstart has detected that your display adapter cannot be used for 3D video acceleration. Studio 10 will run in software emulation mode, which may reduce the playback smoothness of some transitions and effects. For best performance. Pinnacle recommends using NVIDIA or ATI graphics cards designed for DirectX 9 with at least 128mb of memory". My Dell 2400 Dimension has a graphics card called "Integrated Sound, Video & NIC. Is this good enough for what I am trying to do because so far Dazzle won't let me transfer/burn to the CD/DVD drive although I can transfer/burn to "C" drive. Hope someone can help.....Curtis

Not by a long shot I'm afraid.
Video editing is one of the most intensive graphics applications you can use and your PC doesn't even have a separate graphics card which is a basic requirement.
The software has told you the minimum requirements and I would opt for a card with at least 256mb of RAM on board. You will need to identify a spare slot on the motherboard of your PC. The ideal is PCIe, followed by AGP and finally PCI but you will find it difficult to get a PCI graphics card with 256mb of RAM.
Here's an example of a PCIe card that will do the job.

Thanks for the very prompt reply greysts. Bit of a blow. Does this graphics card have to be fitted internally? I'm not too happy about poking around inside the box. Is it possible to fit an external unit via a USB connector?

Yes, it has to be fitted internally, although it's very easy to do, just a case of opening the pc up, and pushing it into the slot (just need to make sure you're earthed). Having a look at your computer, I think that you only have PCI expansion slots, which isn't ideal. This is about the best your going to get, it's not very good, but it's better then the integrated one you have now.

Thank you evilmonkeyzz. Once I've purchased the necessary graphics card I will, no doubt, be coming back to the forum for further advice. Regards. Curtis.

Thanks for that. As you say, not top of the range stuff but it should run the application. I see it has both a VGA and a DVI output which is quite good.
