Website Redesign...
      #35083 - Fri Jan 16 2004 07:41 PM

I am in the process of redesigning my website JimwebF1 (www.jimwebf1.co.uk)and I would like some feedback to see if im on the right track.
The page I have designed has no working links and only limited content but I would like feedback on the general look and feel of it. This is my first effort using Macromedia Studio MX2004 (having previously used Microsoft Frontpage)

I have tried to acheive a more minimalist and simple look for the page and have designed a different navigation system (not working but hover over it to see the effect)

The page is http://www.jimwebf1.co.uk/JimwebF1/2004seasonindex.htm

The full site revamp will go 'live' in a few weeks, please tell me of any improvements and take a look at my current homepage http://www.jimwebf1.co.uk to see the difference

Hi

I took a look at both pages and I must say that I like the new one better. It is more visually appealing IMO. (My son will also like your site) I hope you will include the chequered flag in the new one too.

I'll comment if you like . Don't worry I'm nice me (sort of...) the new design is definetly much better than the older one. Just one little criticism, sorry about this, but the page looks really smart with the greys and blacks and whites and then the nice green background, but the yellow and orange at the bottom of the page spoil the effect a bit. Apart from that, brilliant . Go ahead and design the full site.......!

Hi, I am a newbie and just finding my way. The site looks fine only on some of the boxes the headings have a different shade of background colour, like a piece of tape which may look better if it was the same shade as the main background, but it may be intentional. I know things don't always look the same on other peoples pcs so I thought I would practice sending you a reply from a silver surfer. Good luck with your project. Tansy

Thanks for looking Tansy.

Yes the different shades are subtle but are intentional..I wanted to ensure that the whole page didnt look bland.

anymore comments about the general 'look n feel' of the page. I should be putting further developed page online in the next few days although this wont be the full version.

Very good. What program do you use or do you use code?

I used Dreamweaver MX 2004, the first time i had used it, previoulsy I used Frontpage 2000

Dreamweaver really does show the limitations of Frontpage its like a different world and in my opinion not that much more difficult.
