Retrieve accidently closed tabs
      #349628 - Fri May 25 2007 06:40 PM

If you accidently close a tab, you can reopen it by clicking Shift+Ctrl+T for a PC
and Command-Shift-T if you are using a Mac.

I have needed this tip for so long!

Should you be using Firefox, you can also use an add-on named . . . . > Undo closed tabs button which you can change the amount of remembered tabs closed via the options.

If you're using Maxthon you can just use the Reopen Last Closed Tab - Alt Z icon or the drop down window for the list of previously closed tabs which is integrated into the browser.

If you're using Firefox 2.0xx, you don't really need the Undo Closed Tab extension, you can go to History>Recently Closed Tabs and reopen them there. Having said that, it's slightly quicker to use the extension!

I agree the extension is the best solution and yes, I did see this tip on digg. You spotted it too huh

When you install Undo Closed Tabs Button v2.0, it doesn't automatically add the icon to the toolbar. "You must add the button by going to View->Toolbars->Customize, then drag and drop the button anywhere on the toolbar."

I didn't see it on Digg, I had the Undo Closed Tab extension before Firefox 2.0 came out. On IE7, I've got an Add-on called IE7Pro which I mainly use because of its ad-blocking facility. However, if you right click on the icon on the Status Bar and then on Tab History, you can open recently closed tabs there; Ctrl+Shift+Z will open the most recently closed tab.
