Shouted at, eh! Where was that then...? A link would be appreciated.
Anyhoo, accounts aren't deleted, per se, but they can be permanently disabled. Is this something you want to do?

http://www.webuser.co.uk/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/344416/an/0/page/0#344416 - That bit, although they might have been doing naughty things behind the scenes to get such a response.
Actually you could just change my name to something else, it's basically because I don't want it not to show up in search engines when people search my name, sounds wierd but I have my reasons. Disabling the account and not deleting it wouldn't really solve that, I don't think it would anyway.
Just anything else will do (not with rich OR playstation in it) feel free to go nuts!

Hardly shouting, merely a repeated request - but yes, there was 'history' there...
OK. How's that name? You can still access the account should you wish (login name remains the same but isn't in the public domain, and never has been).
However, what is already cached by search engines will remain so, regardless.

I would doubt it very much. All the info they cache is in the public domain, basically if you didn't want it 'out there' you perhaps shouldn't have put it online.
I'm sure it'll eventually be refreshed, but how long for it to 'disappear'? You'd have to contact them to find out- and bearing in mind just how many search engines there are out there you'd be kept busy for a very long time.
