Hello,

I tried to fix my mums account as it didn't work properly ,but I deleted her account and pressed 'Keep Files'. While it was deleting her account it also deleted her files and it had really important things in her files!

First thing to do is try not to use the PC for anything until you've tried to restore the files. This is because Windows will start using the space on the hard disk that was reserved for your mum's files. Download this file to a separate PC and then use it to try and recover the files.

Hi,

Thanks for the advice but it doesn't support the file type which is Word!

Yes it does. I've just downloaded it a ran it, and it found .DOC files (i.e. "Word" files) that were previously erased.

Oh, I might of downloaded the wrong then. Did I?

Oh well! Sorry!!!

But I did find that all the programs do go searching in "C:\System Volume Information\"
folder, and they might be in there.

C:\System Volume Information\

Represents System Restore . Have you tried a System Restore to a date before you deleted the account ?

This article describes how to use the System Restore tool to return your computer to a previous working state. System Restore takes a "snapshot" of critical system files and some program files and stores this information as restore points. You can use these restore points to return Windows XP to a previous state.

No, it didn't restore anything.

The more you play around with this PC the less likelihood there is of you recovering anything. Go back and use the software I mentioned to recover the files.
