Search box function
      #348471 - Sat May 19 2007 12:54 AM

Hello all,
I could do with some advice as I am currently putting together a web site selling Dyson spare parts and want to use a search box on my site for easy navigation. I have had a quick browse but would really appreciate any recomendations. Currently I have 300+ products listed and would like the search results to show a thumb nail image as well as text and for the results to appear in the same layout as the rest of my site. I need the user to be able to search by model number, model variation and part name.
Hope this makes sense and any help or recomendations are gratefully received.
Ade

To do this you need to put your stock into a database, By the sound of things if I was you I would look at setting up something like oscommerce, a ready made free shopping website which can have it's look changed quite easily, the good thing is this is free and has many contributions to help change the functionality.

Have a look here http://www.oscommerce.com/

Also many hosts might install this for you when you take out hosting with them.

Cheers
