hi,
i'm slightly baffled as to what i need and what phone network/plan/equipment i need to do this.
in the summer i'm going down to cornwall for a holiday but i would like to access the internet without relying on hotspots and internet cafe's. i would like to be able to connect to the internet via my phone. my phone is a samsung d900, it can be setup as a modem. but i'm not sure what networks allow me to access the internet without breaking the bank.
i'm guessing 1 solution is to use the modem, top up the credit to say a tenner, if say that week plunders that tenner on a 0845 number im not fussed, but would that work? if not let me know.
cheers lagmaster

1. What network are you with at the moment?
2. Does your laptop have either
a) a PCMCIA slot or b) a USB slot

in that case all you need is this, though you may need to subscribe to a pay as you go ISP

Hi,
Is there other methods instead of a dial up to access the internet. Would be nice to know what my phone actually do.
cheers

Unfortunately, there are no ways of creating a wireless broadband connection through your phone. Any other method would require hotspots etc, with the phone no longer in the loop

I've not tried Putasolutions link solution but I always take my lappy on holiday. I've been happy with Wi-Fi Hotspots and have used The Cloud a lot. They have some deals but my favourite at the moment is £11.99 for 7 days unlimited access. BT had one which was £6 for 90 minutes (needn't be consecutive) but I'm not sure if it is current.
Last year I also researched using my mobile phone as a modem but at that time it could be v. expensive i.e. 45p per minute ?
