Capturing Screenshots Tips
      #347119 - Thu May 10 2007 11:58 PM

Capture a screenshot

You can capture a screenshot and turn it into an image very easily.

Firstly position what you want to capture so it is visible on the screen and click the Print Screen button. Then open an image editor such as Paint and click Ctrl-V to paste the image back onto the screen.

If you want to select a particular part of the screen, use the Selection Tool to highlight the part you need. Then click Ctrl-C to copy to the clipboard. Open a new blank image by clicking File, New. Then paste your selection back using Ctrl-V and save it.

Capturing just an open window

If you just wanted to capture a particular window on the screen but not your desktop background, click to select the window you need and click Alt-Print Screen instead.

Capture a Web page

Firefox users can install the Save As Image Extension Once installed, right click on the web page and choose Save as Image. You can then select the type and quality of image and also select a particular part of the page to save.

Reduce the image dimensions without too much blurring of the text

Sometimes I have wanted to reduce the dimensions of an image but found the text becomes unreadable. One way round this is to insert the image into a Word Document. Then reduce it in size there. Then take a screenshot of your resized image again.
