I'm having a lot of trouble finding compatible drivers for my toshiba notebook. I recently decided to have a go at dualbooting it with WinXP, which is working fine. Is there even a driver for a NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5100 compatible with windows 98? ive tried a variety of things so far, including third party drivers like Omega etc. The standard 5100 driver causes a system crash. Thanks a lot,

Have you tried the driver scanner on this page www.driverzone.com/category.php?cat=17 links to the www.driveragent.com scan page Installs a tiny file to run scanner OK?
There are many others besides and all they do is look at your driver match against what they have and issue the Link And Now you have the info you can either download/install it or explore in the location for another to try out(should only be a line or 2 away) PS Only thing is I will say a lot of this are "out of date"...If they work they are fine ..do Not be paniked into downloading something you do not need! Concentrate on the file you need ONLY!
PS There is a simplified scan service (NEW) at Filehippo.com if the above is too complex for you? www.filehippo.com/updatechecker/

Thanks for the reply BedstorfromAP, I've tried a few things.
The initial site prompted me to pay for the downloads after the scan had completed, whereas the last link (while useful, i'll be keeping it) only managed to work on software.
To explain the problem a bit further, I'm attempting to run an OS thats older than what the notebook is designed for, hence the difficulty in finding the driver. I'm assuming its so hard to find a 98 driver for the graphics chipset because it was released in the reign of XP.
Driverguide's scan has also turned up nothing, as well as their toolkit. Ive tried editing a few .inf files to no avail (I think the answer is there somewhere, but too complicated for me :P).
Would it be possible (if done correctly) to manipulate the inf file for Nvidia 95/98/Me Forceware drivers to detect the chipset i have in this thing? It's been done on 2000/XP. Thanks again!

If you want an Idea of the chip set Installed plus the driver currently installed Check out this minute program SIW (just over 1 MB big) from www.gtopala.com/ In lots of areas this is uncannily spot on but other places It may guess at what is installed
Does not Fix onto the Program list (totally independant and portable!)
And Paying for Driver updates? I get all mine for free Takes little longer to find but they are there .

Nvidia drivers are always available from the NVidia site for free, listed primarily by graphic card followed by operating system.
You can also get earlier versions of their driver range from here
