mp3, aac, aac+, eaac+ audio formats
      #346771 - Tue May 08 2007 04:57 PM

so i bought myself a 2gb m2 card for my walkman phone and i am under the impression that if i am using eaac+ audio format, i can hold nearly 2000 songs on it. my question is, how on earth does one convert mp3's into this particular format? i have itunes and that will let me convert into aac, but this does not seem to have any space saving benifits, much the contrary, the files are all a couple of kb bigger. sony ericsson say they can't help me as they don't have a program that supports the conversion, yet their manuals advertise this format! if i wasn't bald, i'd be pulling my hair out! can someone please shed some light on the subject?

cheers, Dave

Audacity is a free format converter.
There may be copyright restrictions though with itunes and the like.
The bitrate of MP3 files affects the file size - you will need a minimum bitrate of 192k/bps for decent sound quality.

I see.
Well I've not used eaac+ myself, but according to this, Winamp will do it.
