Changing browser settings - help!!

Hi folks, I was using IE explorer 5 for mac but getting loads of weird overlapping bits and incomplete displays when viewing web pages.

Installed Opera and have the same thing happening, so I guess it's something to do with the settings on my mac - can anyone help me out how to fix the problem:?
