I’m (along with some friends) thinking of starting up a website for cricket fans. There’s a group of us who are ardent cricket fans.
Can you suggest software to use to build the website? We are IT literate though we are not web designers. We’ll be quick to learn and we all have PCs and laptops and broadband connections.
Is there any advice you can offer me? Ours will be a typical website with a forum, members gallery, news articles, photos etc etc.
Thanks very much for your help.

Rather than acquire several copies of a given application you might want to consider one of the free CMS available, such as;
Joomla Mambo PHP-Nuke Post-Nuke
Although, you may find if your hosting company has Fantastico scripts installed that these, and others, are already available to you.

Those CMS based approaches also allow any of your group (your friends) to update the content, such as news and reviews very easily.
Personally, I like Joomla. Lots of addons and easy to use and change.
