Has anybody else had major problems with paypal? It seems that I have been caught up in some sort of error in which I could get in trouble for.

I am currently 'under investigation' because of a payment that I received unbeknown to me and whoever put the money in my account has decided to reverse the transaction and has now opened an unauthorised claim dispute.

I recently purchased an item from Hong Kong on eBay which seems totally irrelevent to this case although the guy that had opened this dispute is a 'Mr Yang' and the total that needs refunding is £1,379,50 or $2,814,15 which is in my Paypal balance but I cannot refund this as Paypal won't let me, it seems as though I have to pay an additional £79.00 towards the refund (in which I won't be paying).

I have looked on the website for some kind of contact for Paypal but there doesn't seem to be any, does anybody know how to contact Paypal directly? I have only 6 days left to respond to this claim and I really don't know what else to do

Click on HELP then CONTACT US and a whole page should appear giving email support and telephone contact. I found this in about ten seconds, so not sure where you have been looking:

Customer Service Centre

PayPal Customer Service agents are available to help you at the following times:

Monday to Friday: 6:00 a.m. BST until 8:00 p.m. BST
Saturday: 4:00 p.m. BST until 6:00 a.m. BST
Sunday: 5:00 p.m. BST until 6:00 a.m. BST

Call us on: 08707 307 191

If the claim is for the WHOLE of the balance of your account, is this the amount you received from a recent sale? If not then you might find your account is compromised. Was it an item sent to a confirmed address with a delivery with tracking number? If yes to both then you should be covered by PayPal's Protection. The whole thing appears somewhat suspicious, though, and you need to make sure that when you log into PayPal it shows in your Resolution Centre - usually a pink bar appears on the main page on login. Just check you are not being phished!

At the minute the community boards of eBay are filled with Chargeback complaints, and recently PayPal surveyed me and others to see if we would be willing to pay extra fees to protect us in the event of sending to Uncomfirmed Addresses. The blunt fact is, you get a 'cleared' payment on eBay, you send the goods, the person files a complaint and you can find that the money is taken back with no recompense. One of the reasons for switching to Google Checkout................

I loved my grandmother very much.......and she fetched a good price on eBay.
