Do people actually still use WEP? It's not exactly news that WEP is about as useful as leaving your front door unlocked. Still, I suppose it's better than nothing.
I've found it quite annoying recently that some Wi-Fi devices that I want to buy only support WEP, and don't support WPA.

Yep, i did a search using my Wii console when i was trying to get it to connect to my router it found 1 person in the street using Wep and 5 using WPA.

Nintendo DS users can only access the net via WEP, which is crazy IMO

I didnt know that, i think i know whos using WEP as one of the lads up the street has a DS.

I have a DS Lite and won't use it online because I'd have to change my security settings and it's not worth the hassle to everything else hooked up to the network.

One of my neighbours has a network with no security at all. I suppose the casual drive-by surfer will use the unsecured network, rather than the WEP network, so WEP is better than nothing. I still can't believe that wireless stuff is still sold that can't use WPA.
Still, unsecured networks do have their advantages:
