Stopping Programs loading on Startup...
      #345544 - Sun Apr 29 2007 02:32 PM

I have far too many programs that load on Startup - many of which I use for work and so would like to keep - but I want to stop them running automatically. What is the best way of stopping them starting automatically.
Thanks

I always use HJT to stop stuff I don't want running at startup.

Easier probably is to use Start/Run and type in msconfig then press Enter.
Select the startup tab and simply untick the stuff you don't want to start.

And then there's a nice little free program called Startup Monitor that warns you whenever any program tries to put itself into your startup list and gives you the option of stopping or allowing it.
