Display too small afer reformat/re-installing WinXP Home
      #345396 - Sat Apr 28 2007 07:32 PM

Hi everyone, last night I reformatted my pc as it was running really slowly and it was easier (or so I thought) than uninstalling all the clutter one by one to find out the cause. Now it's definitely running a lot better, but the display has gone very weird. Everything seems too small? I have a plug n play monitor, the drivers are all up to date, the screen resolution is as high as possible at 1280 x 1024. I've tried setting the DPI to 120 instead of 96 but that makes it look strange too...please help before I throw this machine out of the window!

Having the screen set at 1280 x 1024 means you have a 5:4 ratio rather than the normal 4:3. It also means that stuff will be smaller. Try setting it to 1280 x 960 which will give you a 4:3. Better still, if you want to make the fonts larger user a smaller setting, something like 1024 x 768.

Thank you, that's worked a treat! I could have sworn I'd tried that but no doubt in my frustration I missed it lol...thanks again
