Bear with the software designers.

Some of these games contain several thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of lines of code, and sometimes they make a bit of a mess of it. This is why there are patches, or ways of solving particular problems

The best thing to do is visit the website of the games publisher and see if there any patches available for the game and for the operating system. You can usually find the web address in the manual somewhere

It could be that your ActiveX components need updating or it may be something running in the background on your PC that ain't happy with games. Do you get any meaningful error messages that might give a clue to the problem. What version of Windows are you running?

It means that you need to update your graphics card driver. The only problem is is that the Savage S3 Drivers haven't been upopdated in donkeys years. I hate to have to do this , but I think I have to tell you that it may be time to get yourself a new graphics card

Is this an onboard graphics card? If so,your motherboard manufacturer should be able to provide you with a driver.

A bit more detail may help us, like exactly which display adapter is installed

Go To Start | Control Panel | Display | Settings
It should tell you exactly which display adapter it is

In the Control Panel is an icon called Display
Double Click on it
Click on the Settings Tab
On there it will tell you which graphics card is installed in your system

I'd like you to tell me exactly what it says in Display:

One quick point before Puta comes back.

As the machine's only 4 months old, don't take it apart of you'll invalidate your guarantee. If it does turn out to be a graphics card problem, or any hardware fault, it's the shop's responsibility to put it right, and even if you just need a new card to solve a compatibility problem, it's safer to pay them to make any changes. That way you can't be accused of "tampering" with it.

You've got a point there, Broxi. I got mine from the same firm, but it's easy for me living in Eastbourne with the Bexhill branch only a few miles away and easy access to another one on the outskirts of Brighton if I needed it, and even London's only about an hour away by train.

Must be nice and peaceful up there at the north pole though.
