Lost Favourite File
      #34517 - Wed Jan 14 2004 09:34 AM

In my list of favourites, there is one which I call AAA, this contains about 12 sites I use on a daily basis ie this one. Lord knows how, but today it's gone. Is there any way of retrieving it, or have I to sit and try to recall which sites are on it, and set it up again.

Have you looked in the "Favorite" folder in the C drive?

Hi Colin,

Dunno if this is of innerest to you but...

As you may, or may not, know I use (and advocate whenever possible ) Slimbrowser. It's based on the IE architecture and incorporates IE's Favourite folders. It also has toolbar access to 30 search engines, aloing with a very sturdy pop-up stopper (which can be extended to include banner ads).

However, it also allows you to set up Groups of URLs to open in one click or at start up. I have groups for game sites, music sites, etc. I also have a group that opens my regular haunts (inluding this place), which open up when I start Slimbrowser.

My current start-up group is;

Web User, Amateur Photographer, What Digital Camera forums (all work and no play ).

Then here's Radio Times TV listings (just in case there's anything of innerest to see on the Hauppauge Free view gizmo). There's also BBC On This Day, which sometimes means a prolonged wander round the BBC News archive. And usually whatever site(s) I'm working on like a new look WDC (which isn't live and currently on hold ).
