I have recently taken responsibiityfor the website of a non profit making association. I need to appoint a developer & hoster for their website. Any suggestions on where I can find independently accredited suppliers?
Many thanks

All I would say is, if you can't go on a personal recommendation be wary, there are a lot of charlatans out there claiming to be 'professional' web designers, etc. It's an easy game to get in to.
Whoever you go with insist on a face-to-face meeting, preferably at their premises, and contact their previous clients for feedback about the work done; was it delivered on time, on budget, to the brief given, fully tested, post publishing support, etc.
