Any idea why my post for slow computer in the XP section has been locked and I can't post a reply?

Perhaps because it's been suggested you post your query in another part of the forum where it can be dealt with.

It has been locked because you were replied to with a suggestion to post a HiJackThis log, once the log is complete and you get the all clear, we can then look at any other problems you may have.

OK. It was posted as a HiJack This Log. Virus scan finds nothing, adware finds nothing, spybot finds nothing, HiJack This Log has nothing within it to suggest anything untoward. They have asked me to run an online virus scan which takes anything from 10 to 21 hours to do (unfortunately my broadband internet connection is unstable, anything at the moment 2 to 4 hours at a time without it going off for days is a bonus). Will do this as soon as I can (it did get 60% through finding nothing before internet connection was lost).

The reason I posted it here was because I think it is a process that has got stuck in a loop caused computer slow down and I am surely not the first person this has happened to. It's the third time, complete system recovery seems to work for 4 to 6 weeks then it runs slow again.

Must be a way to check which process is hanging up the computer, would have thought others would have had similar problems with this issue.
