I don't know whether this is the correct forum to use, but I thought people would like to know that know that Amazon has a good offer on for Norton Internet Security:
Good offer for NIS

I use AVG and its always done the job for me.

I still use NIS because there isn't any free anti-virus protection that's available for work PCs, and I don't intend to use different anti-virus and firewall software on my home PCs than I use on my work PCs.

You posted "Good deal on Nortons" my view is its not a good deal ,it would only be a good deal if it was free and i still wouldn't use it.

I realise that for you it's not a good deal. However, I thought it was worth posting because I'm sure a lot of readers of this forum aren't allowed the free version of AVG, so I thought that £11.50 for a combined firewall, virus checker, spam filter, and spyware checker seemed like a good deal.
Other readers might, quite understandably, not want to use free software for something as important as virus protection. Also, the 2007 version of NIS is supposed to be far less resource hungry as previous versions.
PS: Obviously, I'm not criticising your choice of using free software, it's just that I thought that there would be people that my post would help.

Excellent.
What I don't understand is why Amazon is offering a bundle of NIS and NAV, but that's another topic!

Am I missing something here? When I clicked on your link, it showed the price as £34.97, albeit for a 3 User Licence. Maybe it was a special offer that has now been withdrawn. However, even at the higher price, it's good value. I've always used NIS, first NIS 2002, then NIS 2003 which I still have - fully updated of course! If I wanted to change to a later Norton product, I think I'd go for Norton 360; I've seen some good reviews of it.

Sounds right to me. £34.97 / 3 = £11.66.
I avoided Norton 360 because I didn't fancy trying a new product until it had been around a bit.

Sorry to harp on, but why wouldn't a forum member be allowed to use AVG?
Although I agree with your point, I'd rather pay for my anti virus software, however once bitten, twice shy etc.

The free version of AVG is for personal use only, although I'm probably wrong with "a lot" of readers.
Although I know this forum isn't designed for work PCs, I thought that there are readers (members and non-members) who use PCs at work, so would find the post useful.
I'm sorry if I seem to have caused lots of trouble. I was only trying to be helpful.

No trouble caused at all. I'm sure that the market WU aim at, is aimed toward home PC users.
To be fair if I was working for an employer and had to use a PC, I'd expect the employer to provide the internet security along with any checks and maintenance, obviously dependent on the type of employer and place of work, but you get my train of thought?

I work for a very small company. It's down to me to make sure that all PCs have the correct security on them.

No problem. The £11.50 per license deal sounds better than the renewal of your existing subscription.

It does, but I'm happy with my 2003 version of NIS. Later versions have features that I just don't want or need and the version I've got hasn't yet let anything nasty get onto my PC. Hope I'm not tempting fate!

Fair point, although, in attempt to make it less resource hungry, the 2007 version has quite a few options as downloadable extras.

That's definitely a good thing, but I'm one of the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" brigade! I'll keep my NIS 2003 for now, but if I need to, I'll certainly bear NIS 2007 in mind.
