Acer Laptop Slow
      #343708 - Tue Apr 17 2007 12:12 PM

Hi,

My friends laptop is in need of some help!!

Basically...when i switch it on it asks to scan the computer. If i let it it comes up with found.002 error and then goes on to scan again and just stays at o%complete.

If i skip the scan the laptop goes into windows xp and but is so slow...if i click on the start button for example..i have to leave the laptop for ages before i come back to find it has openned the menu.

It started going slow when AVG free anti virus was installed. The my friend uninstalled the nortons security that was running. However..nortons was out of date as it was a trial given away with the laptop.

Hope you can understand all this.

any ideas?

cannot get into safe mode

What's the name of this scan programme that is running at startup?

Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.
