I've noticed a lot of people have trouble with this MP3 player- the Sumvision M18. Mine is a 512mb one.
My problem is it won't start! The screen just says "Starting" with an hourglass next to it, but it doesn't actually start, no matter what you do or how long you wait. You get this screen when you change batteries, so I naturally tried a new battery, but nothing. This happened about a month ago, and it still says starting when you put a battery in and press on.
A lot of people in "how to mend it" have the same problem, but so far no one's answered any of their questions.
Does anyone here have any idea?
My PC doesn't recognise it when you put it in a USB port, you get the characteristic sound of something being connected, but it doesn't show up. When I tried running the firmware software I got an error message saying that the Mp3 player was not connected. After I re-installed the driver cd I get the following error message when I try to run the firmware update software: "Now is recovery state, and select the firmware file for recovering please!" They don't seem to be very good at translating into English...
This is worrying because recently I bought another Sumvision product, an Opus II 4GB Mp4 player. I really hope I don't get this sort of problem with my new toy.
If anyone's got any ideas...
Thanks, Pedro
