Do you mean Microsoft/Windows updates? I had 4 on "Patch Tuesday" and the monthly Malicious Software Removal Tool yesterday, I don't know why that one was delayed. If it is Windows Updates, which ones can't you get?

How do you usually get your updates, via Automatic Updates or Microsoft/Windows Update? Do they show up if you go to the MS/Windows site and check for updates by clicking on "Express"? What happens if you click on "Install Updates"?

i get by updates via Automatic updates.
yes they show if i goto the ms/windows website.

when i click install everything seems ok ,the green bars are increasing then instead of saying DONE when finished its says FAIL.
then another box comes up saying your update has failed to load.

Does this mean that you have Step-by-Step Interactive Training installed? I suppose it must! A couple of MS articles that you might find helpful here and here.

Apparently, this program often comes with a PC with a pre-loaded version of Windows. Have a look in Add or Remove Programs to see if there's an entry for for "Microsoft Interactive Training". If it's not there, it doesn't necessarily mean you haven't got it! Go to the first link I gave above, click on the + by Frequently Asked Questions and scroll down to "How do I know if I have Step-by-Step Interactive Training installed on my system?". Read what it says and try searching for the 3 files listed there. If your search is unsuccessful, try going to Start>Run and typing in "C:\Program Files" (without the quote marks). Click OK and see if there's a folder in there for this program.

i've done a search and i've found all 3 files listed (LRUN32.EXE NRUN AND ORUN32.EXE)

The first 2 files had 1 item in it,but the ORUN32.exe had 3 items in it,1 of these had 'training' in the title.

what now ?

First, create a restore point in System Restore so that you can go back if anything untoward happens! To do this, open the Help and Support Center on your Start menu, access System Restore there, tick the option "Create a restore point" and follow the prompts. When you've got the new restore point, locate those files again and delete them; they'll most likely go to your Recycle Bin, so leave them there temporarily. They'll be inactive there and, if necessary, you can restore them to their original location instead of using System Restore. Then check Window/Microsoft Update and see if that update's still shown. If not, all well and good! Then run your PC for a few days and if everything works as it normally does, you can get rid of the files in your Recycle Bin.
By the way, I expect you meant MRUN rather than NRUN!
Sorry if the above sounds a bit long-winded, but I'm very cautious about deleting things myself and this is what I'd do, hence the precautions "just in case"! I hope it works for you.

You're very welcome, that's great news and we got there in the end! As far as I can tell from what I've read, you shouldn't have any problems from having removed that program. All the same, as I said before, leave the deleted files in your Recycle Bin for a while until you're certain that your PC's running normally. If you do have any related problems, which is unlikely, post back in this thread.
