At moment I record radio programs using a cassette recorder and play them back through my Hifi system or portable cassette player.
I would like to listen to these programs on my iPod. How would I go about recording these onto my PC and then transferring them to the iPod?
Thanks for any help.

Don't use an ipod myself cos of the format restrictions, so can't be sure it will work for you. But for normal MP3 players where you can just drag and drop music to your device, you will find that the free program Audacity will let you record streaming radio programs. If you do a bit of research on the net, you will also find that you can use a program such as URL Snooper to identify the location of these streaming files and so download them at high speed to play on your MP3 player.

As long as you can convert the radio program to an mp3, which Nerval explained how you can, you can just import the file into Itunes like you would any other file and just transfer it across to your ipod.

You could try StreamRipper which is a free plugin for WinAmp. It will rip the audio stream digitally (so no loss of quality) and it will not cost you a penny! The only problem with this is it will only record Shoutcast.com streams but their selection is vast. You can set it to rip a specific size of file if you want too. It rips at the same bit rate as the stream plays, so 128k stream is ripped at 128k. It works perfectly for me and I have used it for years. You will need to download Winamp first and then get StreamRipper from here http://streamripper.sourceforge.net/
