P2P alternatives
      #34239 - Mon Jan 12 2004 07:40 PM

Hi.
This is my first post here.Be gentle.ahem.Anyway to the point.A few days ago I had a problem with my computer and had to uninstall kazaa lite. Now as far as I know you cant download this program anymore thanks to those nice people at sharman networks.
My problem is are there any alternatives as far as P2P programs go?
Im trying out i-mesh.its good but the diversity of search results arent as impressive as kazaa.I really dont want a spyware infested program either.Which i know rules out grokster and kazaa.
BitTorrent is good but can be slow and i dont really know how to work it
Any help would be appreciated :)

I only managed to find Kazaa Lite 2.4.3 at http://www.oldversion.com. Its a shame that Kazaa Lite was shut down by Sharman.

The Kazaalite project has been shut down. You may still be able to use the software because its simply Kazaa without the spyware.

The P2P sharing network is still in operation, it's just that Sharmen have forced Kazaa lite to be taken off the net. In other words you notsupposed to be able to download it any more.

There are places though it can be obtained.

I was hoping you might come along. I didn't just want to give the location out without your knowledge.

I've also stuck it on my server just in case.
