123-reg... No medal for its customer service!
      #340855 - Fri Mar 30 2007 10:06 AM

Hey. I went for 123-reg to build and host my website based onthe Gold Medal that Webuser gave it and the features are fantastic. I can't dispute the product itself it is better than expected for a paint by numbers format. However, its customer service is, how can I put this? Lame. Three times now I have asked them a question via their support form and received not a sniff and I have tried numerous times to ring and after five minutes of waiting I get, "the other person has cleared your call" and the line goes dead. Yes 123 would be great if all I wanted to do was host photo's of my family or just display a bit of info, but I was sold on it as I thought it would serve a purpose in getting a little business up and running - and to a degree it has. But without any help or someone answering my questions it could all so easily come to a grinding hault... In fact it has, so I guess i'll just ring again in vain... Has anyone else found this to be the case or is 123 picking on me?

My experience is that they are not geared for individual/small users calling in, didn't have any trouble getting through, but the calls are charged at a premium rate

I too have experienced a great deal of frustration with 123-reg.co.uk's poor customer service, a brief account of which can be found at http://www.muddyclay.com/march07.htm#123-regnightmare .

123-reg are coming under increasing fire from angry customers who feel let down and out of pocket. I'm amazed their big cheese (dan.conlon@pipex.net) hasn't taken steps to address his companys negative publicity. Apologising and employing a few more customer service reps would be a start.

Motivated by my frustrations with 123-reg, I invited comments from other people who had any dealings (good or bad) with 123-reg. Within four days I had 18 messages from very frustrated people with some accounts that beggar belief.

And so, in the interest of balance, I invite anyone with experience of 123-reg to share their experience at http://www.muddyclay.com/march07.htm#form .

Bill

Seems they accept they have been less than helpful...

I was struck with a note of hope when I read about the fact that they're coming clean about their failures. Sad to say, nothing has changed - emails going missing again, two emails to their new improved support over a week ago, and......nothing.
