Basic Webhosting
      #339574 - Sat Mar 24 2007 12:56 PM

Hi, im thinking of contstructing a simple website and have been looking at webhosting and wondered if anyone could recommend a good one, I do not need any fancy scripting such as peral php or any databasing tools.

I have seen a free web solution but im optimistic as I know that most free hosting usually contain adverts or something simular -> freevirtualservers

Any recommendations welcome..

I use One and One as my website host. Ive had no problems with them so far.

If you just wanted basic hosting they do a Beginner package for £1.99 + VAT a month.

Like you said, I also think that Free hosting will be covered in adverts and pop-ups.

Not all free host force adverts onto your site. But most are best avoided for other reasons, such as unreliability and slow servers.

webhostdirectoryUK have loads of UK hosts listed.

Free Web Hosting is a web host directory, listing only free hosts. You can find out whether they force adverts or not as well as some feedback about each host.

110Mb offer free hosting without adverts.

All the best - Duncan

Thanks for the suggestions so far, have been searching the last couple of days and looking at various options and I am currently looking at 1&1 Internet Ltd - Has anyone heard of them -> 1&1 Internet

For £4.40 I see they are offering 1.5gb of space with 20gb trafic with plenty of other bits shoved into the package too

EDIT: Just noticed this is the one recommended by cw2004
Have you had any problems with them at all ??
