Read your fascinating article in issue 156. in for a penny. Computer was very sluggish, I thought....
Now i need advice. Dell computer. removed heaps of emails, registry's (i think that's the name), unused Icons on desktop.
well, I lost connection to broadband, as the Icon had not been used in 3 years (but still held the internet connection that I used through "start button"). £15 + helpline, I got internet explorer back,(system restore would not have helped apparently). Outlook express will not connect - icon gone. (not in "add/remove programmes")
Now my computer's looking for "outlook express.Lnk".
Any suggestions EG "registryfix", throw computer out of window (PS ISP cannot help further).....

Have you tried clicking on Start, Programs, Outlook Express?

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

G'day leedsfangb.
Go to here "Root:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" and right click on msimn.exe and send it to desk top.

Hi leedsfangb.
No.... Click on Desktop - My Computer then \C:\Program Files\Outlook Express then right click on msimn.exe then click on send to desktop. If you can't find msimn use the search function, still on joy have to reinstall outlook

I have to say "you are a star" Sandman!!!!!!
I have been fretting that problem, and the associated cost £65, for three days. It wasn't in that directory, but a search within 15 seconds pinpointed it.... I can't tell you how relieved I am.
Now, "Registry fix", or, or "regsupreme", the concensus is supreme, but I am (as you can tell) a early day's man. If you know about MSIMN (or whatever), your knowledge is "a darned good indicator"

Mind you, just looked, they are coming through as "blank content".
It is "servicepack386", that's coming through. The others don't appear to work.... They are "pf" files (the ones that don't work).

G'day leedsfangb.
pf files are MS pre fetch to get updates. If OE dosn't connect and get your e-mails it may need reinstalling so save your address book first by using export unless you have a copy of OE-Backup. BTW I use Opera e-mail.
