Hi All; Have a lexmark X1150 All In One. Been working fine for 3 years. Within the last 2 weeks have been getting "Problem communicating with printer" message when i try to print anything. In the device manager everything looks ok. I can click on scan and that works beautifully still it just wont print !!!
Powered off then on re installed everything, downloaded new drivers from lexmark. bought new usb cable. Tried it on my laptop as well as the desktop pc both running windows xp.
I even went out today and bought a new x1270 all in one got it all out the box installed it on the desktop and.........................."Problem communicating with printer" message !!!!! Tried on the laptop..............."Problem communicating with printer"
So wrapped it back up and got me money back in comet !!
Two printers, two computers................same problem ?
Then i thought ...............!!!!!
Could it be WINDOWS XP UPDATE ????
have they changed some settings in networking patch and i have installed it on the automatic updates. Because its only happened within last fortnight.
I dont use system restore so cannot undo changes.
What update could have caused it ? am i on the right track ?
KB929338 has been causing a few problems, so it may be the culprit in your case.
First of all turn System Restore back on. You're foolish to run without it!
Now go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, scroll to the bottom and click on Update for Windows (KB929338) and then click Remove. You may have to tick 'Show Updates' at the top.
If it doesn't solve your problem you can always install it again.
