Saving in my pictures
      #337825 - Tue Mar 13 2007 07:00 PM

Iam using XP.
On my old system when I put the pointer over a picture' a box use to appear on the picture asking me if I wanted to save the said picture to my pictures, which was quite easy to do.

Now when I do the same thing the box does not appear.
Can anyone help please?

Thanx Dave.

Where are these pictures that you hover the mouse pointer over?

EDIT. I've noticed that you have an identical thread in the Browser section of the Forum, so I assume the pictures are on a web site. Try right-clicking and saving.

Were you previously using Win9x?

I don't think you get the same thing in XP. Just do as BurrWalnut says - right click on the picture and click on "Save Picture As..." and it'll go open your "My Pictures" and you click on "Save". That's in Internet Explorer. If you're using Firefox, do the same thing, but click on "Save Image As..." instead.

If I'm right, this is a box which opens with the options to save or print when opening a non copyright image on the internet. This disappeared when SP2 was installed on my XPHome.

Now it's case of, as you advise, right click and either copy or save as.

I think you're right. I used to have that, but now it's gone. I had it after I installed SP2, maybe it went after I got IE7. As far as I can tell from IE7 "Help", this box isn't available any more, it just mentions the right-click option. I still have it on Maxthon, they call it the "Floatbar".
