Hi I was just wondering if anyone woul dbe able to help me!
I cannot boot into my Windows XP Screen as when it tries to an error message of "lsass.ese - System Error, Object cannot be found" comes up and only allows me to click OK, which then reboots the machine!
I have booted from CD and gone to recovery concole, ran a chkdsk and everything comes back fine, so have tried to repair the Windows installation which starts off fine but after it reboots again the lsass.exe error message comes back and i'm stuck in the same hole!!
I have hundreds of photos and information that I haven't backed up (Stupid I know) so if anyone would be able to help I would be SO grateful!!
Thanks in advance!

Try this first :
Go to the recovery console again and copy lsass.exe in the \i386 folder on the WinXP CD to \windows\system32 on your hard disk.
Edit. It's just occurred to me that the file may be compressed on the CD, i.e. the extension is .ex_ If it is just rename it to .exe

ok, now I have a bigger problem....I am getting the "Blue Screen of Death" the first line says....
Stop 0x0000000A (0x00000806, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x804fd3aa) IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Anyone have any clue on how to get past this? I really can't format my hard drive as there are pictures that I reeally need (Sentimental value) so may have to extract all the info by copying files from dos but if there is away to get round the bsod and re-install windows I would be so grateful!
Thanks

Did you manage to copy lsass.exe to \system32?
The STOP error you refer to (hex A) usually indicates a RAM problem. To recover your data, here are a couple of things to try :-
1. Boot into safe mode (tap F8 when you switch on) and copy your important data to an external device. The PC is unlikely to boot but you must try it in case it's a driver problem and not a RAM problem.
2. Download memtest from here http://oca.microsoft.com/en/mtinst.exe Save it to the hard disk, double click it, accept it and point it to save to a floppy disk. To run it, reboot your computer with the floppy in the drive (make sure the floppy is ahead of the HDD in the BIOS boot sequence). After the reboot, it will load and the first test pass will begin using the standard test suite, and continue until complete, unless it is either paused or exited. Once the first test pass is complete, it will begin a second test pass, third pass, etc. ad infinitum. If there are errors you will be able to either replace the offending stick or remove it if you have more than one stick.
3. If you can't access the disk at all, hook it up to a friend's PC as a slave drive and copy your important data. You won't have to fit it in the other PC but make sure it's stable on something non-metallic, e.g. a cardboard box.
Good luck.

Will hook up the HDD to my home PC and get the data that way!!
