domain names
      #333794 - Tue Feb 20 2007 07:09 PM

hi, im building a new website and am having trouble choosing a domain name. i cannot get the .com or .co.uk that i want. so what is the next best alternative? should i get:

1)www.example-example.com (use a hyphen)
2)www.example-example.co.uk (usea hyphen)
3)www.example.net
4)www.example.org

or something else? example is not the name im wanting by the way i was just using that as a test word, i'll be using a persons name instead.

thanks

I would say that if you can get the same name but with a hyphen then get that. For instance go for
www. example-example.com if you can get it.

I would choose a domain that is as close to your site content as possible. If for example horseriding.co.uk is taken I would go for horse-riding.co.uk.

If would refrain from using overly long domain names or domains with several hyphens in.
The simpilar the domain the better as people will need to remember it!

Out of your choices, I'd go for example.net
