Scrollbar size

I know how to alter the scrollbar colours but is it possible to alter the size of the scrollbar on the right of your screen? My mate said it can't be done. Thanks

Hi spynka,

You can make this change by right-clicking on your desktop, select Properties to open the Display Properties dialogue, then select Appearance.

Now it depends which O/S you run.

In XP click the Advanced button, then/otherwise look at the Item drop-down and select Scrollbar. Now change the Size to your choice then click OK.

This will effect all scrollbars in all applications, not just your browser.

Your mate is right. Even the colour change is browser dependent, as it is not true coding. It is an anomaly which was discovered in Internet Explorer and exploited. Try Mozilla or Netscape and you will see the colours are ignored and the default appearance displays.

My own advice on making an attractive page is to concentrate on the quality of the content to get repeat hits, rather than frills and fancies that don't mean anything.
