Hi, when i use my memory stick to load up documents, or open them from my documents they take about 30 secs to open. but when i open them in college they open straight away. why is this happening on my home comp?

If your home machine is 'old' it may have USB1.0 ports. Does a message come up syaing 'this device would work faster in a usb2.0 connection'. If so it is an old type port.
You can always test the connection try the tools on the flashusbinfo FAQ page
