e-machines 370 psu problem
      #326908 - Tue Jan 16 2007 09:54 PM

Hi all

I recently tried to turn on my e-machines 370 pc only to find it as dead as a do-do. No lights, no sounds, no fans starting up, zilch.
I viewed a few forums on 'tinternet and decided that it must be the power supply. The psu in question was a bestec ATX-250-12e and i've replaced it with a unit from maplin, a Trust PW-5150 370w.

Everything connected up fine in the tower, and when I turned it on the power light came on, the cpu fan started to spin, and obviously the psu fan started. However, nothing else seems to work. The monitor is blank, the hard drive is doing nothing, and the c.d. drawer won't open.

Is the mother board stuffed? Is this new psu not suitable? or have I missed something terribly simple? Any help would be very much appreciated !
