Hi, I want to wipe my hardrive on my old PC and reinstall windows what is the best way to do this and the easiest please. Daughter is having PC upstairs but I want to clear the system so it run better for her as she wants it to play Sims etc on it. Any advice appreciated. Jen
Personally, I always just put the widows disk in and start up off that, that then gives you the option to format the hard drive before windows is installed, that should be enough.
As an aside, you say it's your old PC - does it have enough memory, etc., to play the games your daughter wants?
I've got the Sims (not Sims 2) myself and you do need quite a bit of memory and a reasonable speed to get the best from it.
I don't know how technically knowledgeable you are but it should have at least 256MB RAM (but it does take a long time to load), but 512 would be better.
