picasa/moviethumb/programchecker
      #321595 - Sat Dec 16 2006 02:03 AM

Hi All who read this, For most of this week, I've been searching for a solution to problem I have with picasa. Although g/groups + Picasa help has similar problems posted but no solutions. I hadn't used Picasa in a while and when I was halfway through something last week, it came up with an error report. Then I noticed there was now a Picasa 2 so I d/loaded that. Again, more error reports showed after a few seconds. Trying to read what the tech. report would be, it showed error signature and moviethumb.exe. A google for moviethumb.exe pointed me toward programchecker. (The only one ticked green on Mcafee site adviser anyway!) I didn't d/load programchecker as I felt was wandering round a maze by this time.
I seem to have had lots of oddities since i.e.7 + have managed to sort out a lot of them, thanks mainly due to searching w/u forums. I don't use i.e. but from what I understand it's necessary if you have set for microsoft auto-updates. I've also noticed that nothing I have that is checked for update alerts no longer does notify me! For instance, Firefox, Irfanview, Ccleaner.
Anyone any ideas what I can do about my poor Picasa? Thanks in advance. der
