Laptop Battery Problem

I have a 3 year old compaq laptop that I havn't used for 2 years.

Since it came back from PC World after a so called check the battery has never charged it just flickers on amber all the time indicating that it is charging yet never goes to green fully charged.

I did take it back to them but they say there must be something wrong inside not allowing battery to charge. please help I am hoping to give laptop away for Christmas please help.

I am using xp sp2 and only used laptop for 3 months.

If they have CHECKED your Laptop and then there has been an issue afterwards, they need to resolve it.

I think a trip back to the store is in order.

I have to say that a three year old laptop battery is probably at the end of it's useful life, used or not. Clearly if you feel that PC World have done something they shouldn't then take it back but I doubt they will offer a replacement battery.
