hi all, ive an old program that i removed, however the remains of the icon are still present on my desktop and i cant delete or move it. When i click on it it just says its a system folder. ive tried using the search facility but nothing comes up. Can anyone help in removing it,as its not even listed in the add/remove programs, Thanks.

What program have you removed? A System Folder is only protecting itself from deletion.

If it's the Nokia one there's a tool..here ... to clean up old files etc , just make sure you follow the instructions and back up important data first.
If you're not comfortable using that , and you are SURE it's safe to remove the file then try removing it in..... "safe mode"

Same issue was with me, but it was my sony ericsson, sorted out with safe mode. Curious to know what did work out for you?

Have a try of this utility . . . . . >> Move On Boot to remove the offending icon.

By all means try Fusion's suggestion , but I'd be interested if you tried the safe mode option.
