Personal website (in Alveston, S Glos)
      #311597 - Tue Oct 24 2006 06:02 PM

www.whitecottage.org

I have been developing this website using MS Frontpage 2003.

It is about my interests - primarily music and walking, and it also includes information about (and links to) local organisations in South Gloucestershire.

I would be very interested in any feedback other readers may have.

Having that popup window open every time a user clicks on the home page link isnt a good idea .

[whats new]

The vast majority of users know what a 'what new' type of page will contain and they dont need a popup box to tell them to visit it .

No big thing though - most people who are new to building pages tend to make the same sort of mistakes until they become more experienced and you arnt doing anything that hasnt been done before a million times .

Nice site. I like the appearance and the content. Also, it loaded quickly, which is good for someone like me on dial-up. I didn't see a pop-up, so either you've got rid of it or my pop-up blocker blocked it!

Madeline.

Hi

For a personal website, I think you've done a good job.
Nice and uncluttered, and I quite like the midi file
stuff (shame it has to load in a new window). Also,
can't you incorporate that wikimap into your site?

Why have you created the site? How often will you update
it? What interests you? You could answer all of these
questions on the homepage.

I like the photo on the right hand side, too.

Steve

Thanks for those comments. They were very useful. I have tried to incorporate everyone's suggestions. Note that the wikimap is already on my wiki page. A new page is opened for the midi file so you can continue to browse the site.
