Hi
My friend cant do anything with his pc.When it turns on it comes on with only desktop picture no icons or taskbar.He runs windows xp.It doesnt have any error messages its jsut blank except for desktop pic. Can someone please help?

Go here http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll down to line 195 right hand column and download the file. Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt.

Thanks very much for your help but i forgot to mention that he cant get onto the internet with his pc..Sorry i am using my pc at the moment to try and get him some help.

Can you download it, move it to his machine and run it?
The above fix is a known solution but rereading your post suggests to me that nothing, or very little, is able to run. There are other things to try like 'repairing' XP and restoring the system to a previous state.
Let us know how you/he gets on.

Thanks again for your help..I downloaded and put it to disk and tried to put it on his pc but it didnt work.
